I was surprised at how well rounded the information in the book was. I started it with the mindset that I thought that I had the gist of what it would be about but would probably learn a few tips. I was wrong. There is a wealth of knowledge in this book.
I found many pointers about how to choose shoes, psych myself up mentally, how to stretch, a few running plans, pointers for what to do when you start to get burned out, many different ways to keep from injuring yourself, and many others.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has even the tiniest inkling of wanting to start running or to be a runner. It really helped change my view on it and shattered the myths about running I believed true.
