Lilly Robbins-Brock has written a great recipe book. Food Gift Recipes From Nature's Bounty:Easy & Delicious Recipes to Make and Share for Every Occasion is recipe book for anyone who loves to give food gifts. She uses organic ingredients from heirloom seeds which is of great importance to me. The recipes look delicious and the book includes pictures demonstrating some of her great tips on how to package or prepare the gifts so that they are pleasing to the eye.
I fully intend to try many of her recipes. I don't know if I will give any of these recipes as gifts because I would want to eat it myself. OK, maybe I would give some as gifts to my kids. Seriously though, I do recommend making enough for yourself in addition to giving the gifts for any occasion. Also, it's a good idea to have some around for your guests to enjoy. I am a gardener and an excellent cook and I promise I will make as many of these recipes as possible, probably all. I love all her tips on how to use beautiful containers for these tasty gifts.
She fully explains the what and why, as well as how to present, of each category at the beginning. I like how she includes conversion charts and safe meat temperature cooking times at the end of the book. Get this book and prepare the perfect gifts. If you aren't a gardener you can always get the ingredients you need at farmer's markets and organic grocery stores.
